Rebecca Smeyne has been creating memorable depictions of cultural scenes and parties since 2005. She has covered thousands of events, and her images have been a regular presence on the pages of the New York Times for over a decade. Previously, she was on the mastheads of Spin and Paper Magazines. Her first photo job was shooting the Village Voice’s Sound of the City column, which she did at an obsessive pace from 2007-2011.
